James spun towards the island UK, on planet Earth encased in a glowing green asteriod, arriving in a ball of flame in 2003.

He started drawing soon after that and is now based in London.

James spontaneously appeared in 2003 and started drawing soon after that. He rarely comes up for air. Right now he is drawing in London in a small box he calls home.

Since I’ve been a teenager one story has followed me through my work as an image maker. I love to create worlds, expriment with storytelling and grow history. My first delve into this style was here. All kickstarted by one thought... To tell the story of the New Testement, as a mythic saga with a sci-fi twist. What if the arrival of Jesus Christ was not through immaculate conception and the hand of God, but a distant asteriod screaming towards Bethlehem, carrying the messiah in a distinctly mechanicl form.

This is the story of...

ROBOT JESUS

The first work I produced was a ‘scroll,’ a comic-like tapestry that in a wordless form tells the story of the first story I developed. It’s about the 20cm in height, and 20 meters in length making it one of my most intresting forms of image, it made a great impact on me and what I would go on to do.

Years later I returned to Robot Jesus to create a short video. the scroll will forever be one of my favourite experiences, but I will say that it’s not the most sharable piece of work. Half the time i can never pull the whole thing all out in one room! I want the Robot Jesus mythos to be something I can forever develop, reimagine and add new elements to. This in its most recent form is this film.
I always want Robot Jesus to be up there in my selections of work because it will always be a great excersize of my creativity. I want Robot Jesus to be starting conversations with people from now until we can make messianic robots in the real world!

If not... check out these shots from the film down below.

Stay tuned! When you least expect it there could be a new entry into the mythos of ROBOT JESUS!
